Hargadon Bros. was founded in 1868 and is a combination of wood-paneled snugs, stone floors, clay jugs, and bottled alcoves.

Bernard Collery, a local merchant, built the pub at the corner of O’Connell Street and Fourth Street in 1864. He served on the Sligo Town Council and in parliament for the town of Sligo.
