When planning your Ireland vacation and booking flights to Ireland, it is important to consider where you want to arrive in Ireland and where you want to leave from. You may opt to fly in and out of different areas to maximize your Ireland trip and see as much of this wonderful country as possible.

If you’re flying in from Europe or the United States, you’ll most likely arrive at one of Ireland’s three major and busiest international airports: Dublin, Cork, or Shannon.

The most often isis the airports for European connections are Dublin and Cork, with the United Kingdom is the most frequently flown to from Ireland. Aer Arann, Aer Lingus, Aer Lingus Regional, and Ryanair, all based in Dublin, Ireland, are the most popular low-cost airlines in Europe.

Donegal, Knock (County Mayo), and Kerry is also served by their respective regional airports. There’s also Sligo Airport and Waterford Airport. Belfast International Airport, George Best Belfast City Airport, and the City of Derry Airport, meanwhile, are the three international airports located in Northern Ireland.

11. Sligo Airport

**Rescue 118, the Irish Coast Guard, is based atSligo Airport.
